Summary
Armchair. A tall, raked-back armchair with wool-upholstered back and set (replacement upholstery). With scrolled open arms that splay outwards, scrolled arm supports and front legs and scrolled apron to the front. The chair has turned back legs and H-shaped stretchers. The armchair part of a set of five chairs and a settee.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
