Summary
Key. A brass presentation key, one of three decorative presentation keys. Head is formed of a central cartouche, on one side the Morgan coat of arms, enamelled blue and yellow, and on the reverse, Cardiff City arms, in red and yellow. Surrounded by an inscribed garland, surmounted by crown, and having the Morgan motto on banners. Shaft has spiral leaf and motto decoration in Welsh.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
