Summary
Wash basin. A circular, white ceramic 'Figaro' wash basin, part of a two part set by Swinnertons. Decorated with green and blue ribbons, pink roses and purple daisy design around the exterior. Wide, shallow basin with outward-curving lip, gold-bordered. Interior plain glaze is crazed. There is a chip to one edge of the rim and cracks on underside of base.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
