Summary
Brasso. A silver-coloured cylindrical metal tin of 'Brasso' metal polish, with screw top, containing 'Brasso' polish, by Reckitt & Coleman Ltd. Decorated with a blue and white sunburst surrounding a red circle, in which the words 'BRASSO' is printed in white.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.

Side and rear of tin: [coat of arms / lion and unicorn] / RECKITT AND COLEMAN LIMITED / BY APPOINTMENT. SUPPLIERS OF METAL POLISH TO H. M. KING GEORGE VI BRASS / METAL POLISH / for polishing Brass, Copper, / Zinc, Steel, Pewter & C. Apply with a soft cloth. Polish off with a dry soft cloth preferably before the polish has completely dried. Do not place this tin close to the fire. Shake well. Reckitt & Sons. Hull & London.
