Summary
Jug. A white ceramic 'Figaro' ewer, part of a two part set by Swinnertons. Decorated with green vertical ribbons, with blue bows to top, pink roses and purple daisy pattern on both sides. Tall with concave curved sides, bulbous at top and bottom. shaped rim and raised pouring lip, lined with gilt. Long loop handle, on one side runs from top edge to almost the base, decorated with worn gilt.
Provenance
Part of the collection on loan to the National Trust from Newport Museum and Galleries. In March 2012 the National Trust took over the management of Tredegar House with its contents and its 90 acres of gardens and parkland, from Newport City Council for a period of 50 years.
