Summary
One of a series of colour photographic cards showing left and right pages from a small mediaeval book in the collection of The British Museum. The left page shows a section of Latin script with two figures fighting over a backgammon board on the ground. The right page shows more Latin script. In the bottom margin is a woman playing a board game on her lap. In the top right corner the handwritten number '269' has been added at a much later date. Identified at the bottom 'B. 372', 'Quarrel over backgammon.', 'Dice player.' 'Stowe MS. 17, ff. 268b-269. Flemish, circ. A.D. 1300. (Actual Size)', 'Published by the Trustees of the British Museum'. On the reverse is 'Printed in England by Waterlow & Sons Limited, London'
