Summary
One of a series of colour photographic cards showing left and right pages from a small mediaeval book in the collection of The British Museum. The left page shows a section of Latin script, with a large decorative drop capital with a stylised goats head at the top. In the bottom left is a person playing a hand held harp. The right page shows more Latin script. In the bottom margin is a woman kneeling at a table working with some dough, while to the right a bearded man is loading bread into an oven. Identified at the bottom 'B. 368', 'Harp-player.', 'A baker at work.', 'Stowe MS. 17, ff. 210b-211. Flemish, circ. A.D. 1300. (Actual Size)', 'Published by the Trustees of the British Museum'. On the reverse is 'Printed in England by Waterlow & Sons Limited, London'
