Summary
One of a series of colour photographic cards showing left and right pages from a small mediaeval book in the collection of The British Museum. The left page shows a section of Latin script with two men in the left margin sitting on the shoulders of two others, wrestling. In the bottom margin is a small dragon. The right page shows more Latin script with a king on a prancing horse in the right margin, with a hawk on his right arm. The left and bottom margins are taken up with a large decorative drop capital. Identified at the bottom 'B. 359', 'Pick-a-back wrestling', 'King hawking' 'Stowe MS. 17, ff. 100b-101. Flemish, circ. A.D. 1300. (Actual Size)', 'Published by the Trustees of the British Museum'. On the reverse is 'Printed in England by Waterlow & Sons Limited, London'
