Summary
Floor Tile - Design 9 – This design shows the letters IHC within a circle with small fleur de lys at the corners and an angular central lobe. The tile is framed with a band around the edges which is not continuous, with small squares at the corner and band between divided into three, not square ended. Olive green glazed body with a light green /creamy yellow slip inlay. There is a shallow central scoop on the reverse of the tile. From a collection of tiles at Lacock Abbey. Likely to have been manufactured in the 1520's. (Group B – Burnett-Brown Tile Collection Report).
