Summary
One of three metal galleys with the top side open to allow the job/type, to be slid from the imposing stone (compositors table) to the galley, or vise versa. The imposing stone has a lip around the its edge for the galley to rest on, ensuring a smooth transferral across. The galley is then stored at a slight slant, in a galley rack, which helps to hold the tied up job together, until it is needed again.
