Summary
Oil painting on canvas, The Hon. Frederick William Robert Stewart, Later Viscount Castlereagh and 4th Marquess of Londonderry (1805-1872), aged 11, after Sir Thomas Lawrence, PRA (Bristol 1769 – London 1830), circa 1816. Inscribed, lower left: Frederick Stewart AETAT 11. A feigned oval half-length portrait, in a fur-edged doublet and white collar. Another version exists, possibly still in France, that was owned by the Powerscourt family and sold at Christie's in 1903 to Asher Wertheimer. One of the versions was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1818 but not clear which.
