Summary

Black leather box with hinged lid and pressed brass stud fastening. Initials engraved in gold on centre lid read; R.R.C. On bottom left-hand corner of lid also in gold; 2ND. Inside, the base is covered in purple/blue velvet and has impression of a the Royal Red Cross medal awarded for exceptional services in military nursing. The inside lid is lined with cream satin and along with the image of a crown has name and address details reading; GARRARD AND CO., LTD. / by special appointment / TO HIS MAJESTY THE KING / 24, ALBERMARLE ST. LONDON / AND / DALHOUSIE SQ. CALCUTTA.
