Summary
Agfa Silette camera (type 2). The whole is a metal camera case the bulk of which is covered with black leather. As in use the back of the camera releases by means of a spring clip at the bottom of the left side to expose the film compartment. Inside beneath the take up spool is a number "WW4146". Above and central to the silver metal top area is the small oblong viewfinder. On the top of the camera from left to right is the rewind knob with the ASA selector built in, in the middle is the accessory shoe, next the shutter release which is tapped to take a release cable. The winder lever is built into the body work and the frame counter is at the centre back at the bottom. The front of the camera has the viewfinder directly above the lens The central front plate has a synchpost low on the right side and the lens central and the AGFA diamond logo upper left. The first ring selects aperture from 2.8 - 22. T he second ring selects shutter speed from B - 200 this ring is marked "Vario". The ring beside is marked with a depth of field gauge and the word "Silette". The front of the lens rotates to focus and is marked from 3 feet to 30 and infinity. The front of the lens is marked "AGFA colour – Agnar 1:2.8/45. T he base of the camera has a tripod socket central and the rewind release button slightly to the right and is stamped Made in Germany.
