Summary
Canon Ion Still Video Camera. The whole is of plastic contruction and saves still images as single frames of analogue video. On the back of the camera, top left, is the main switch with three positions Record, Erase Play and L. Below and left is the battery compartment, to the right is the Eject button to remove and replace the video floppy discs use to record data. Above and right is the viewfinder. The top of the camera has the shutter button on the right, this has different functions dependant on the position of the main switch. In record it is the shutter release, and in play/erase it erases the track. In the centre is a display panel with Reverse and Forward buttons behind. Further left are four more buttons, from front to back, All erase, Date, Erase Mode and Flash/int. The camera is marked "Canon" and "ION Still Video Camera RC-260 Pal High-Band". The front of the camera has the viewfinder top right below which is the lens marked "Canon Lens SV9.5mm F2.4". Beside is the Self timer indicator and the flash. The right side of the camera has a Macro selector button and a fitting to which a neckstrap is attached. The left side has a Video Output port. The base of the unit has the floppy disc compartment, a screw shut button battery compartment and a label giving instruction for fitting the battery and giving additional information " Canon RC-260E, DC 8v. ZG636905A" and "Canon Inc Japan No 10042805". There is a small hole which is desined to take an attachment plate which provides a tripod socket.
