Summary

Rolleicord 1A camera. The whole is a metal construction twin lens reflex camera. The top of the camera, which is marked “Rollei F&H”, opens to create a chimney style viewfinder which can be used to view the scene through the focus screen and lens or as a simple two frame viewfinder. The right side of the camera, as in use, has an eyelet for a strap which doubles to secure the case. Under that is the film advance which is actuated by a knurled knob and forward of that is the frame counter which allows for 12 frames. The left side also has an eyelet for a strap which doubles to secure the case. There are two spring loaded knobs which allow the film spools to be loaded and unloaded.and centre front there is the focus knob with the ASA selector inside. ASA can be selected from 8 – 800 and the focus ring is marked 3 – 60 feet plus infinity. The back and base open to allow access to the film compartment. It is unlocked by a lever which moves around the tripod socket on the base of the camera The mechanism is protected by four stud feet on the base. On the back of the camera is a plate giving exposure and ASA advice relating to a series of picture types. The front of the camera has a plate “Rolleicord DBP 1932890 DBGM”. The models that has the letters DRP on the left and to the right DRGM on the front of the camera means that they were made before World War II, because DRP means 'Deutsches Reichs Patent' (German Reich Patent) and DRGM means 'Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster' (basically a copyright for the name). Below is the standard. The upper lens is marked “Heidosmat1:3.2/75”. To the right of this lens is a control marked M and V and to the left a control which when moved reveals a red spot. Below the focus lens and around the object lens reads “Synchro – Compur” and “Made in Germany Franke & Heidecke Braunschweig”. The object lens is marked "Schneider- Kreuznach Xenar 1:3.5/75 5710461". Either side of the object lens are two further controls which appear to be seized and below are the shutter release controls. There is a plastic lens cover over both lenses which is embossed "Rollei F&H".
