Summary

Kodak Retinette 1B (type037) 35mm film camera. The whole is a metal construction with simulated leather body work. The front of the camera has the viewfinder in the centre of the top portion and the light meterto the side. Below is the standard which is marked in black “Kodak”. The top of the standard has a Flash Synch socket. The first ring on the lens is the aperture ring marked from 2.8 - 22 The next ring sets shutter speed from B – 500 and also has a lock button which when pressed allows film speed to be set from 10 – 800 ASA. The object lens is turned to focus and is marked from 3.5 feet – 50 feet and The end of the lens is marked “Reomar 1:2.8/45mm Rodenstock”. There is a “Hoya 29.5 UV(0) Japan” filter in place. The top of the camera has to the right the film counter dial and to the left a dial marked (Color and a picture of the sun, Color and a picture of a light bulb and a diamond symbol which signifies black and white”. This doubles as a film rewind dial. Between the two is an accessory shoe and the shutter release. It is engraved “Retinette 1B” and the number 126623. The left side of the camera is the opening to the film compartment, opened by a button on the base and allows the bulk of the back to open to the right to expose the film compartment. Inside the back of the camera where the 35mm cassette would be placed is a label “Kodak Limited Stevenage E253246”. The right side is the hinge mechanism. The back is the door of the film compartment above which is the viewfinder The bottom of the camera has on the right, the film advance lever the film rewind button. On the left is the tripod socket and film compartment door release button.
