Summary
The Lamp House of a W Butcher Empire No.00 35mm hand driven cine projector. The whole is of sheet metal folded and press construction rectangular in form. The back panel is open with a hinged flap covering the top third. The left side is plain except for 6 ventilation holes. The right side also has 6 ventilation holes along the bottom above which is a hinged door which has a brass and blue glass port hole with a heavy brass cover with a knurled knob which controls the turn buckle closure. Above the door is a manufacturer plaque which reads - No 00 EMPIRE CINEMATAGRAPH. Manufactured by W Butcher & Sons Ltd Camera House, Barringdon Avenue. E.C. The front of the lamp house has 2 thumb screw fixings below which is the condenser lens housing (the condenser lens is present). The roof of the lamp house is slightly domed with a large oval chimney hole (the chimney cowl is missing).
