Summary
The Pathé-Frères KOK 1912 28mm home cinematograph - hand-turned model with dynamo fed lamp. The whole is mounted on a solid wooden base which has 4 locating pins and 2 bolt keeps for the carrying case/cover. The projector consists of a heavy cast iron frame from which the various components are attached. From the rear, as when in use, on the first vertical are the 2 film spool arms, the drive arm is at the bottom and is powered by a metal spring belt and pulley. The top spool arm has an internally cogged rewind mechanism operating on an orbital cog at the end of the spool arm. On the next vertical frame there is a series of cogs and wheels to which the cranking handle attaches and one pulley drives the film spool and a larger more robust pulley drives the dynamo mechanism which is all on the left side of the frame, on the right side of the frame is the spindle for the cranking handle and film transit mechanism. The front vertical of the frame comprises at the bottom the dynamo which powers the lamphouse which attaches to the back of the lens mechanism by a simple push friction joint. The condenser lens is built into the back of film gate. This whole assembly hinges back from the housing which contains the flicker mask and the objective lens which has an electrical focus system. On the front of the lens housing is stamped a number – 10918.
