Summary
Butcher Empire No.1 35mm hand driven projector lamphouse. The housing is metal with an open rear and a side door giving access to the lamp itself. The electric lamp mount (catalogued separately) slides into groves on the base. The is a brass and wood handle on the side and the whole structure slides into rails on the oak baseboard. The top has an oval mounting for the separate vent. A circular glass red filter give a side view of the lamp. On the side, a brass plate says 'Butchers No. 1 Empire Cinematograph W.Butcher & Sons Ltd. Farringdon Avenue, London E.C.'
