Summary
Pathé Frères 35mm Cine Camera. A hand turned Pathe Cinematograph Cine 35mm camera in a wooden box covered in black leather. At the front is a f/4.5-25 lens in helical focusing mount. Access to the lens is via a hinged door. Above and to the right of the lens is the viewfinder. This is viewed via a reflecting side viewfinder on the right handside of the body. Beneath this is a rotary metre counter and below that the sprocket for the turning handle, (missing). Most of the right handside consists of a door which opens to reveal 2 wooden film (100 metre) magazines, with brass and leather pull handles, with provision for two spares, (fitted). In front of these is the operating mechanism, which comprises of, "a single frame and 8 frame shaft, 2 sprocket and claw drive, interchangeable felt covered or frame gate pressure plate". On the top is a leather carrying handle and a double spirit level. There is also a depressable button, that has no discernable effect. At the rear are 4 unsrewable brass knurled knobs, which hold the film magazines in place. On the left handside is a circular brass screwable panel. The base contains a mounting screw for a tripod. Markings: on the front, central at the top, embossed on a metal plate, "Cinematographes, Pathe Freres, 14 Rue Favart Paris". Below this is a further plate embossed with the number "1193".
