Summary
Enlarging lantern. The enlarger has a metal frame mounted on a wooden base and has brass fittings including a screw wind enlargement control and a separate focussing arrangement. There is also a mechanism linking these two functions to a degree. The sliding negative carrier has a brown safelight included and accommodates negatives 80x80mm. A door gives access to the condenser chamber in which there are two hemispherical lenses, catalogued seprately. On the front in an enamel plate saying 'J.Lancaster & Son United Birmingham'. The lamphouse fits above this chamber but is currently missing.
