Summary
'Metamorphoser' lantern projector. Two stage russian iron body, with rack focusing lens in a brass draw tube mount, and removable 4 wick paraffin burner. The projector is fitted with the 'metamorphoser' changing mechanism introduced by W.C. Hughes - a vertically-moving double changing stage allowing wood-framed slides to be changed without an interval between. Markings; on the front of the body under the lens, a brass plate marked "The Metamorphoser Patent no. 15440"; on the burner, a brass plate marked "patent no. 2459".
