Summary
Photographic enlarging lantern by W. Hume of Edinburgh - Part 1. Cantilever 5 x 4 in. Mahogany base and body. Black tapered leather bellows which allow extension of the main body. Two brass rods on which the main body will slide at it extends. A rack focusing lens with waterhouse stops and a brass turning knob at the side, and a detachable red filter cap with a leather edge is on the lens. A wooden plate holder with a brass ring on the top fits in front of the condenser. To the rear is a wick paraffin burner. A circular window is on the back of the lamp burner in which there sits a red filter. Markings :-On the paraffin burner is a white ceramic knob with "Hinks No2 Duplex". On the side of the base of the burner stand "The Cantilever" "Enlarging Apparatus" On the back of the funnel above the window is a small metal plate with manufacturers name "Hume"
