Summary
Houghton & Sons Ensignette Model B photographic developing tank. This developing tank was designed to accompany the No 1 Ensignette camera. It is a nickel plated tank with an eliptical cross section. There is a plate on the bottom to allow it to stand vertically when in use. There is a box section at the top which opens to allow the film to be introduced it is then closed and there is a metal clip which comes over the lid to securely close the tank. There is a funnel and tube built into the side of the tank for introducing chemicals and a drain hole at the bottom. Both the funnel and the drain have captive stoppers, (they are attached by strong string to metal rings provided for the purpose). Inside the box section is a removable tray to hold the film, unlike other tanks of this kind there is no means of pushing the film into the tank. The only markings are stamped into the lid.
