Summary
No.2 Brownie photographic developing tank. This is a metal box with rounded corners and a separate lid. The lid is slightly domed and has a hole through which chemicals can be introduced and removed. The lid is embossed with "Brownie Eastman Kodak Company Developing Box". The main box is trough like, one piece construction with spring clips to retain the lid and a central bent metal leg to enable gentle agitation of the chemicals. The box contains one wooden roller attached to long metal springs, one woooden roller in fixed position. This has a spindle which extends through the side of the box to a crank handle. There is a third wooden roller on a metal frame which is attached to the cranked roller by thin brown string. It would appear that this system enables the film to be rolled out into the tank after the lid has been closed. On the side of the tank is stamped "US PATENTS The numbers are unclear but they appear to be dated 1900 and 1909 Made in U.S.A."
