Summary
8" Cooke Telephoto Anastigmat f5.6 cine camera lens Consists of an aluminium standard which is marked 445 and 8", attached is the metal tube of the lens assembly which is cut away to reveal the mark against which the graduations for distance from 0 to infinity in yards aligne. The barrel of the lens is brass and has a knurled ring to aid setting distance. Next is a knurled ring of black metal which moves to control f stop, the graduations from 5.6 to 45 are engraved on the collar. Also this ring is engraved Made by Taylor-Hobson England Patent no 198958. The next tube contains the object lens which is engraved Cooke Telephoto Anastigmat Lens No 202996 8 inch 216mm Series VIII f/5.6. The filter ring of the lens connects to a filter holder and lens hood of unknown metal.
