Summary
A Clement & Gilmer Tele Objectif Panorthoscopique telephoto lens. Iris diaphragm scaled f8 - 64 in removable positive lens. Magnification scaled 3 - 8. Extension scaled 16 - 56 cm and 6½" - 22". Brass mount with knurled brass screw with rack and pinion movement to separate lenses. For half-plate. The positive lens has a focal length of around 9" and is removable for use as a prime lens. It is engraved with f stops 8 - 64 along the operating slot and "A Laverne and Co, Clement & Gilmer PARIS" Serial no 102884 Clement & Gilmer was formed around 1891 from what was previously A. Laverne & Co.
