Summary
A Corfield Telemeter. This is of metal construction with leather look fabric scales top and bottom. The top scale is embossed with a C in a circle and has two small rubber discs stuck to it. The bottom of the telemeter has an elastic strap so that the user can attach it to their left hand. The case is held together with four small screws one of which is missing. On the front edge (as in use) there is a small eyepiece. on the far side is u shaped orifice and an oblong slot. The left side is blank and the right side has a large opening containing the operating lever and the scale. The user holds the telemeter to the eye and moves the lever until the two images merge and then read off the distance from the scale.
