Summary
A silver coloured metal Ennwell battery flash. The Ennwell metal battery flash is cyclindrical with a dark brown plastic handle with vertical ridges and metal sliding on/off switch. The ends of the cylinder are made from metal with horizontal ridges. One end screws off to reveal an empty battery chamber. The screw lid has ornate ridging and embossed manufacturers mark which reads "ENNWELL FOREIGN" set in a sunburst embossed design. The inside of the lid houses a copper spring coil for the battery. At the other end iof the cylinder is a screw thread encase in white plastic for attaching the flash bulb. Fits with accompanying reflector and Sashalight flash bulb.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
