Summary
Aeronautical & General Instruments Dial Camera Mk V. The body is black metal and focusing is by knobs on either side of the camera. At top and bottom there are butterfly nuts for attachment to a frame. The body has three electrical terminals but their precise function is unclear. A plate on the front instructs 'Object distance to be measured from this plate.' The front is embossed ' Dial Camera AGI Ltd.' A bayonet mounted disc protects the lens which is marked ' Agilux Anastigmat No 52132 80mm f3.5'. The lens stops down to f22 and the shutter has three speeds to 1/100 sec. The lens plate is marked 'Agilux'. The brilliant viewfinder has its own focusing. On the right side of the body is a plate which says 'Dial Camera Mark V Serial no A122 Patt. No. AP/5938 Aeronautical & General Instruments Croydon England' The rear plate is embossed 'Aeronautical & General Instruments Purley Way Croydon' A sprung coil can be used for shutter control.
