Summary
A Sands Hunter Reflex Camera. The camera is wooden with black leather covering, leather bellows and leather viewing hood on top. Front: a metal label inscribed ' Sands Hunter & Co' 37 Bedford Street, Strand, London, W.C. ' Front, the lens is set in a metal mount. RHS: leather carry handle metal fittings including, a shutter speed mechanism and release metal knob for carry strap on both sides. LHS: bellows focusing knob, counter mechanism and metal fittings. Back has a removable ground glass screen. There is an inset tripod mounting on the bottom. Lens; a Carl Zeiss, Jena Nr.126520 Tessar 1;4,5 R18 cm D R P 142294. with exposure settings from 4.5 to 45.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
