Summary
Plate adapter for Kodak Number 4 Cartridge camera. A wooden back plate with black leather outer covering and brass pressure plates. Window of 4" x 4¾" with small notch at top and number 41 embossed. Markings: stamped on the top - "No 4 Cartridge Kodak. Eastman Kodak Co. Made in USA". Paper instruction label on side "Before placing this adapter in position, please remove the frame which carries the aluminuim rollers, as explained in Section 2, Part 1 of the manual."
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
