Summary
Cirkut panoramic rollfilm attachment for RB Cycle Graphic 5" x 7" plate camera, manufactured by Folmer & Schwing Division of Eastman Kodak Co. The housing is made of wood, covered with pebbled black leather, with leather handle. On the back is the switch and the shutter speed lever. Inside is a large black metal film take-up drum (inside which is the clockwork motor), with black felt covered film pressure plate in the centre, wooden film spool, and the shutter slit. Also needed (but missing) are a winding key and set of brass gears. Markings: Plate on rear inscribed with "Cirkut Attachment, Folmer & Schwing Division, Eastman Kodak Co, Rochester, N.Y.". On the side which joins onto the camera, stamped in the wood is the number 2059. The Cirkut Attachment would be mounted to the back of the R.B. Cycle Graphic camera (see Inventory No. 1524817.1), to form a "Cirkut Camera Outfit" which took panoramic photographs of almost unlimited angular span on roll film that passed before a slit aperture as the camera rotated on its tripod.
