Summary
Black leather wallet of 6 single dark slides for Newman and Guardia "Sibyl" folding plate camera. Leather of wallet is very worn. Flap secured with press stud. Inside flap is label printed in gold: "Newman & Guardia Ltd, London". There are 6 single dark slides inside the wallet, each stamped with a number from 1 - 6. They are metal with cloth tape tabs on the opening, to pull the draw slide out.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
