Summary
Eureka plate camera by W W Rouch & Co. for 3¼ x 4¼" plates. Polished mahogany body with brown leather handle on side. Tripod bushes on side and base. Lens: Brass barrel W W Rouch & Co. lens with leather lens cap lined with velvet. Shutter: Roller-blind, T & I settings, not self-capping. Fixed changing bag of leather, accessed by metal door. Focusing: by sliding box movement. Single reflecting view-finder. Markings: Inside cover of changing bag is white plastic plate printed with a table of numbers 1 - 12, and marked "W W Rouch & Co, manufacturers". A white plate is screwed to the side of the camera and reads: "Patent "Eureka" Detective Camera, manufactured by W W Rouch & Co, London". A white plate is screwed to the side next to the handle with the retailer's details: "The Tella Camera Co. 68, High Holborn, London, WC". Appears to be the model of 1889 (see link to website in General Note).
