Summary
Kodak Premo No.9 folding plate camera. Black metal body covered in black leather. Metal fittings. Black leather bellows. Black velvet insert in baseboard to protect lens. Black leather handle on top (one side no longer attached and leather surface very worn), stamped with "Premo". Rising/falling standard. Kodak Ball Bearing Shutter, printed with patent information. Shutter release cable attached. Brilliant finder on side of standard. Tripod bush in baseboard. Catch on reverse releases flap to access ground glass focusing screen. Lens - Planatograph - Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. Markings: Plastic disc on top of camera in black, red and white reads: "Premo No.9. The Premo Camera".

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
