Summary
A 16mm cine camera/projector. The unit has no markings to indicate the manufacturer. The body is metal covered in black leather and it has brass fittings. There are two screw mounted lenses, one of which has an iris diaphragm and it is thought that this one is used in camera mode whilst the second, with fixed aperture, was probably used for projection. The two are mounted on a sliding brass plate. An orifice at the rear is covered by a metal plate and it is thought this was where a lamp mounted for projection. The projection lens has a chordal section cut off, possibly for teaching purposes. This lens is marked 'Berlitz nr 435001 Kino Plasmart 1:1.3 Foc 1 1/8 inches'; the remaining inscription has been cut away. The back is inscribed 'Made in Germany'. The camera lens has a number '2528456815' but no manufacturer. The body has slits top and bottom for use in projection mode. Film is held in a reloadable cartridge. There is a viewfinder on the top and a tripod bush on the bottom. The top has a leather carrying handle.
