Summary
Thornton Imperial Triple Extension folding field camera by Thornton Pickard. Wooden camera with brass fittings and lens and black leather bellows. Manufacturer's mark printed on disc inset to side "THORNTON TRIPLE "IMPERIAL" EXTENSION PICKARD". A brass lens is integrated into the lens shutter assembly (F8-F64). No lens cap. A circle is inset into wood above lens presumably once housing another manufacturer's disc. A shutter release string dangles from the assembly with a small red pompom on the end. This mechanism is broken, once pulled to release the shutter it does not spring back due to the shutter curtain coming away inside. To the rear is a hinged and removable focusing screen. On the base is a circular brass disc for attaching the camera to a tripod. A leather hand strap is attached at top with brass rings. 1904-1910
