Summary
A Lizars Challenge folding rollfilm camera, adaptable for plates 1905. Lens; Beck Symetrical. The camera is mahogany por possibly teak covered with leather, with brass details; brass thumbscrews, brass and glass view finder, and bakelite ACG shutter. The bellows are dark green coated paper. Markings: Manufacturers disc fixed to top reads "J.LIZARS "Challenge" GLASGOW EDINBURGH LONDON BELFAST ABERDEEN LIVERPOOL".

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
