Summary
George III jewellery box. Mahogany. Lid hinged with two brass hinges. Brass carrying handle folds into a recess and is crudely marked; DRG. On the front surface is an oval brass escutcheon plate etched with scrolls and a bow, with a hinged flap to reveal the keyhole which is inserted into the mahogany. The inside of the box is partially lined in red leather. The top of the lid has a split from the outside edge. The red leather is stained.
