Summary
A coloured lithographic glass lantern slide, in rectangular format with four circular images (35 mm diameter) numbered 9 - 12, from original paintings depicting rural mountain views, with buildings and a castle. The four circular images are printed on film which has been placed between two sheets of glass and sealed with a black paper border. The slide has a painted black mask between the images. One side of the glass is smooth and the other is textured.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
