Summary
A coloured lithographic glass lantern slide, in rectangular format with four circular images (35 mm diameter) numbered 9 - 12, from original paintings depicting European city views, including Notre Dame, Paris. The four circular images are printed on film which has been placed between two sheets of glass and sealed with a black paper border. The slide has a painted black mask between the images. One side of the glass is smooth and the other is textured.
Provenance
Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986.
