Summary
An albumen print photograph depicting a view of the facade of the Maximilianeum, a palatial building in Munich, Germany, founded by King Maximilian II of Bavaria as a gifted students' foundation. In the foreground is the river Isar with two people in the water, and on the right of the photograph is the Maximilian Bridge. The photograph is in landscape format and has diagonally cut corners. The print is mounted onto an album page of heavy white card. Markings: Top of the page handwritten in black ink and underlined: "Munich" Beneath the photograph, handwritten in black ink and underlined: "Maximilianum (sic), founded by King Max II"
