Summary
An albumen print photograph of Vesuvius, Italy, depicting a open-sided carriage at the lower railway station at the foot of Vesuvius. There are several passengers inside the carriage; men, women and children. The driver at the front is blowing a horn. The print is mounted onto a white stiff card page on the lefthand side within an album. The photograph is in landscape format and has diagonally cut corners. Markings: Bottom of the page, below the photograph, handwritten in ink and underlined, are the words: 'Lower Station of Railway at the foot of Vesuvius'.
