Summary
An albumen print photograph depicting the railway at Vesuvius, Italy. The railway track is seen rising up the hillside, and there are several buildings in the middle distance. A road winds up towards the buildings from the foreground. The print is mounted onto a white stiff card page on the lefthand side within an album. The photograph is in landscape format and has diagonally cut corners. Markings: Bottom of the page, below the photograph, handwritten in ink and underlined, are the words: 'Vesuvius shewing Railway'
