Summary
An albumen print photograph depicting a view of Vesuvius, Italy, apparently in process of erupting. There is steam rising from the ground. Three people are standing on a hilltop in the top right of the image. The print is mounted onto a white stiff card page on the lefthand side within an album. The photograph is in landscape format and has diagonally cut corners. Markings: Bottom of the page, below the photograph, handwritten in ink and underlined, is the word: 'Vesuvius'
