She was tied to a wild bull by the sons of Antiope, Amphion and Zethus, who wanted to punish her for the ill-treatment inflicted on their mother. The print is mounted onto a white stiff card page on the lefthand side within an album. The photograph is in portrait format and has diagonally cut corners. Markings: Bottom of the page, below the photograph, handwritten in ink and underlined, are the words: 'The Farnese Bull'.
