Summary
An albumen print photograph of Naples. The print depicts a panorama view of the bay of Naples with Mt Vesuvius in the background. The densley housed city can be seen and ships moored in the bay and harbour. The photograph is taken from a viewpoint at San Martino, Naples, a former monestary now a National museum. The print is mounted onto a white stiff card page on the lefthand side within an album. The photograph is in landscape format and has diagonally cut corners. Markings: Top of the page, above the photograph, handwritten in ink and underlined, is the word: 'Naples'. Bottom of the page, below the photograph, handwritten in ink and underlined, are the words: 'Panorama of Naples from S. Martino'. Bottom of the page, in the right hand corner, handwritten in ink and underlined, are the words: 'April 1883'.
