Summary
An albumen print photograph depicting part of the exterior of the Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence, Italy. Also called the Loggia della Signoria, it is a public building on the corner of the Piazza della Signoria, adjoining the Palazzo Vecchio. There are a number of statues in view, including: Perseus with the Head of Medusa (Cellini); Hercules & Nessus (Giambologna); Rape of the Sabine Women (Giambologna); and two Medici lions. There are 2 men sitting underneath one statute and 2 men sitting on the steps, behind 3 stalls selling lemonade. The photograph is mounted onto a white stiff card page within an album. The photograph is in landscape format and has diagonally cut corners. Markings: handwritten in black ink above the photograph: "Florence" and below the photograph: "Loggia dei Lanzi or Hall".
