Summary
An albumen print photograph of a painting, 'Venus and Cupid with a Satyr' (formerly 'Jupiter and Antiope'), by Antonio Allegri (Corregio), in carte de visite format, mounted into a white stiff card page within an album. The window of the mount is portrait format and has curved corners. It is surrounded by a 5mm wide embossed margin. The paitning depicts three figures, Venus nude lying beneath a tree, to her right the child nude Cupid asleep, and to her left a satyr Recto nil. Verso nil.

Part of the Fenton Collection. A gift from British Film Institute in 2017. From 1986-1999, part of BFI collection for the Museum of the Moving Image. BFI purchased collection in 1986 from James Fenton's Museum of Photography, Port Erin, Isle of Man 1976-1986
